EUROFUNDS: HOW TO PROCEED?
specialized conference on possibilities of using funds from structural funds

On Tuesday 10 June 2008, more than 200 top managers of Slovak companies, mayors, representatives of higher territorial units, bankers and representatives of the third sector met in the Carlton hotel Bratislava to obtain comprehensive information on possibilities of drawing the funds from structural funds of the European Union in the period 2007-2013.

This unique conference on the issue was organised by the NAPS civic association in cooperation with the CENTIRE company.

The free admission event was held under the auspices of:

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Knowledge-Based Society, European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities

Mr. Marian Janušek,
Minister of Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic.

The aim of the euroconference was to provide the participants with a package of current information and thus help them to use European funds in the new programming period efficiently. Lectures were given by 19 experts – such as employees of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic, Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Ministry of Education, Ministry of the Environment and the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia. A lecturer from Unicreditbank, the main financial partner of the event, was present as well.

The event was opened by the President of NAPS, Peter Solej, who mentioned that in addition to the human rights, status of women in the society and ecumenism, eurofunds present the fourth area of the association’s activities. Subsequently, the participants were greeted by Mr Viliam Cagala, advisor to the minister, on behalf of the Minister, Mr Marián Janušek.

A whole-day euroconference, which also included an extensive discussion, was accompanied by coffee breaks and a lunch giving participants an opportunity to talk.
