Why NAPS?
NAPS civic association was founded by Peter Solej, the youngest author of specialized literature in Slovakia, during the preparation of his fourth book entitled Slovenské platidlá (Slovak Money) with the intention to focus his activities on different areas other than literature as well as to work and carry out useful activities in the third sector.

The objective of NAPS is to support education and creative intellectual activities of Slovakia’s youth as well as activities in the field of culture, and to safeguard and develop spiritual values. NAPS carries out its activities along these lines since its registration by the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic on 28 October 2004.

Within the framework of educational activities, the association successfully organized several meetings and discussions with representatives of public life and parliamentarians, through which young people were able to meet and interact with leaders and decision-makers of the Slovak Republic.

With the cooperation of the Slovak national centre for human rights NAPS also organised a regional conference on the theme of human rights. The association also supported a summer camp for handicapped children prepared by the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta as well as a summer camp for Greek Catholic youth or the first Meeting of youth from the European Carpathian region which was organised in 2007 on the international level by a combined secondary school in Medzilaborce.

Annual organisation of ecumenical concerts of sacred chants, with the aim of bringing people together, deepening inter-religious dialogue and supporting mutual tolerance, is the most significant activity of NAPS. Through these concerts the association actively tries to promote and safeguard traditional spiritual and moral values in today’s consumer society.

NAPS realizes also activities about eurofunds, status of women and in sphere of art. NAPS cooperates with specialists, statesmen, diplomats and hierarchs of churches. Since October 28, 2008 the organization is NAPS Institute - Our Activities Pro Slovakia.

NAPS is managed by the Executive Board chaired by the president. For a significant support of NAPS activities, selected personalities of the society may be granted an Honorary Membership in the association which, at the same time, is the highest award given by NAPS.
