Members of NAPS with Pope Francis together with Syrian Mystic Myrna Nazzour

Rome, Italy – Members of the NAPS Council participated in a thank-you pilgrimace organized by the Greek-Catholic Archieparchy in Prešov in October 2018 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Prešov Eparchy and other important anniversaries that are reminded by the Greek Catholics in Slovakia this year. Peter Solej and his wife Lenka traveled to Rome together with the Syrian Mystic Myrna Nazzour. The culmination of their three-day visit was a personal audience granted by Pope Francis within a special audience given by the Head of the Catholic Church to Greek Catholics from Slovakia.

„I am very grateful that with the approval and blessing of the Metropolitan of the Greek Catholic Church in Slovakia, Archbishop Ján Babjak SJ as well as Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church across the Middle East, The Most Blessed Joseph Absi, the NAPS Institute could host Mrs Myrna Nazzour in Rome and that ma and my wife could accompany this precious woman to her historically first personal encounter with the Pope of the Catholic Church. The Holy Father said during our brief interview that he has known about the events in Souffanieh and His Holiness has sent his solideo – the white papal cap that he wore – to Syria,“ NAPS founder, Peter Solej, told the media. He also added that, in the presence of Archbishop Ján Babjak, he briefly recalled the international ecumenical activities of the Slovak NAPS Institute. „Together with my wife, we have the mercy and the honor to meet with Pope Francis for the fourth time. Even this time, I asked the Pope for an apostolic blessing for NAPS work,“ Solej added.

Mrs. Myrna Nazzour has visited Slovakia many times. In the meetings with the public co-organized also by NAPS Institute, she has shared her personal story induced by God for 35 years. She spoke about the signs – oil, apparitions, ecstasies, stigmas or healing. „All are signs of God’s presence among us. These particular signs may disappear one day. However, the message in them sent by God is more important. Each of us has a mission, but we discover it only when there is love in our heart,“ Myrna said. She has emphasized the value and message of marriage and family, and the work on unity. Myrna has also talked about the meaning of suffering and hurdles in our lives to be tolerated by God. „The hurdle is like a bridge we need to cross in order to get closer to God,“ Myrna underlined.
